The excursion starts from the village of Nerano, from which a path winds its way offering spectacular views. Along the way, visitors will encounter Villa Rosa, which once housed the writer Norman Douglas, and shortly thereafter they will be able to admire a breathtaking panorama that suddenly opens up to the sea, overlooking the Faraglioni of Capri.

A place of legendary charm: according to Pliny the Elder, it was in this bay that Odysseus met the Sirens on his return journey to Ithaca, as narrated in the Odyssey.

The trail has a fork: on the left, the path through the FAI-managed area; on the right, the Miners’ Ladder. Ideally, we recommend descending through the FAI area and then ascending from the ladder: more strenuous, but very impressive.

This is a perfect hike to propose in spring and fall, when the weather is mild and the trail less crowded. In the warmer months, in fact, the heat can be intense and the bay quite busy.
